THE DUNKIRK HISTORICAL MUSEUM WILL RE-OPEN ON AUGUST 3, 2020, ADHERING TO NEW YORK STATE COVID REGULATIONS. 

 

VISITORS:

All visitors over the age of two must wear a face mask/covering while in the museum.

Masks are available from the staff for a $2.00 donation if the visitor lacks one.

Visitors will enter by the front door and will have their temperatures taken. Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will not be permitted to enter. That person will be advised to contact his/her physician.

A museum staff or a volunteer will ask for the persons’ names and where they live to create a guest register for contact tracing.

Visitors not together must socially distance 6 feet from others while in the museum.

Visitors will walk through the main exhibit area, proceed to the basement exhibit, and then exit through the side door.

 

STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS:

All staff and volunteers must take their temperature at home before coming into the museum or it will be taken upon entrance into the museum.

All staff and volunteers must have a mask or shield (DHM will provide one).  Masks/shields must be worn if the volunteer is working within 6 feet of someone or must be worn where there are visitors in the museum. Staff and volunteers will be responsible fo cleaning his/her own mask/shield.

Restroom needs to be cleaned daily,

Handrails, door knobs, light switches will be cleaned daily,

Keyboards, printers, work surfaces will be cleaned before the worker in that area leaves for the day.

Exhibit cases will be cleaned once a week,.

All areas will be dusted and kept cobweb free once a week.

A logbook for cleaning and staff/volunteers will be kept.

If someone tests positive for Covid-19, or exposed to someone who has, that person must report it immediately to the Director of the Museum.

No staff/volunteer should come into the museum if he/she develops symptoms of Covid.
